Warum hard: A cross-platform e-commerce build with safe payments, logistics transparency and large-catalogue UX requires careful performance, release and user-journey design.
Über die Marke
YITOO is an online shopping and wholesale platform focused on customers across Africa. The app positions itself around wholesale pricing, factory-direct purchasing and a very large catalogue (“more than 70 million products”). It also highlights practical buying considerations for cross-border and local commerce: local-currency pricing, clear shipping costs, transportation and transaction protection. The primary audiences are value-driven consumers and small businesses looking to source products at affordable prices, with the ability to contact factories directly to negotiate and expand their businesses. The Google Play listing shows an established user base (100K+ downloads) and an active review profile.
Die Herausforderung
The Play Store proposition needed to be clear and credible for both consumers and business buyers: wholesale pricing, factory contact, delivery transparency and safe payments. With a catalogue described as tens of millions of products, performance, search/browse UX and stable release processes are critical to maintain user trust. The listing and in-app experience also had to reduce uncertainty around shipping costs and transaction protection, which are common friction points for e-commerce in multiple African markets using local currencies. Finally, the client required a single build approach to deliver both iOS and Android efficiently.
