Why hard: A high-SKU Shopify catalogue with multiple filter dimensions and tracking integrations increased build and QA complexity.
About the Brand
The Ice Lane is an India-based lab-grown diamond jewellery brand with a strong focus on premium positioning and modern design. The site promotes lab-grown diamonds and highlights Type IIa sourcing as a key quality differentiator, positioning the stones as whiter and more optically transparent. Customers can browse a broad catalogue across rings (including engagement, daily wear, couple, cocktail, solitaire and bands), earrings and bracelets/bangles, with filters for metal/stone and price ranges. Product pages present specific item variants (e.g. 0.80ct round rings and halo styles) and the store is geared for direct-to-consumer online purchase.
The Challenge
Crawl data showed a large catalogue (e.g. 982 ring items) and heavily repeated navigation copy across key pages, which can dilute on-page relevance and make core category content harder for users and search engines to understand. A broken /collections/ route returned an error page (โSomething went wrongโ), creating a poor browsing experience and potential crawl waste. Category and product templates needed clearer hierarchy and more structured content to support discovery (shop by style, metal/stone, price bands) without overwhelming pages. Measurement also needed to be consistent across GA4, GTM and Meta Pixel for reliable funnel reporting.
